About the Gowns

As mentioned above, we choose our gowns carefully, clean them thoroughly, and make any necessary repairs. We also examine each gown thoroughly.  Vintage gowns are almost never perfect - (but then, neither are new gowns) but most imperfections in our gowns will not be noticeable when worn.  We will do our best to mention any exceptions. Please refer to the Orders and Policies section for information about our "On Approval" plan that allows you to inspect and try on the gown before making your final decision.

Our gowns are individually chosen for their quality and beauty, and we offer lovely gowns in every price range. Though each era has its own bridal silhouette, we look for gowns with "that extra something" which sets them apart - that elusive quality that turns a vintage wedding dress into "the gown of your dreams."

Many resources are available to the modern bride, and there are several excellent books on designing a vintage wedding, and on the history of bridal fashion.  Below you will find a brief decade-by-decade overview of the well-dressed bride, including information on how to "get the look" of your chosen decade.  Cherished carries gowns made from the 1930's through the mid to late 1960's, before minidress wedding gowns and barefoot brides became the style.
